Flagellate
Algae concert
A musical performance bringing together microalgae, horns made from kelp algae, and traditional Finnish and Karelian shepherd’s horn and flute instruments.
Concert attendees will hear and see the first outcomes of a new collaboration between musicians Kultapiisku (Devina Boughton, Veera Katila, Kirsi Ojala), cryptophyte algae Rhodomonas marina and Tvärminne Zoological Station marine biologist Sonja Repetti.
After each performance there will be the opportunity to get to know the algae and the instruments.
This event is “give what you can” (suggested donation 5-25 €) to support the artists (with a portion of proceeds going to the algae via marine research).
