Can death – or life – be shaped into theological doctrine?
Leena Julin’s third artistic event as part of her doctoral research is an exhibition that explores the relationship between Christian culture and the secular contemporary individual, primarily through two questions: how to encounter another human being, and how to face the finitude of life. How do various established and officially formulated church texts respond to questions related to death and mourning, or how has the church acted when encountering different groups of people? This research has taken visible form through various visual and sound art pieces.
The event is part of Julin’s research, which aims to identify recognizable elements within the Christian tradition regardless of personal conviction—shared humanity—and to highlight contents that may divide or exclude people.
