2015 will mark the the 20th anniversary of Äänen Lumo/Charm of Sound, for which we will be presenting a very special season of celebrations, events, and other sonic treats.
For the opening concert of our anniversary season, we are very excited to present the premiere of a brand new concert-length work by one of Lumo’s all-time favourites: sonic luminary and beloved sound guru, the inimitable Shinji Kanki, with his new work ’Five Cities – a theme and five variations on white noise’:
”Five experimental site-specific compositions on white noise, that were composed/played at five cities over the last five years, are reworked for the Free Arts Space – a unique space in a bomb shelter in Helsinki – and patched into a single new composition.
The five variations (in order) are dedicated to the following cities:
Karlsruhe, New York, Helsinki, Wolfsburg and Budapest”
This is a rare treat indeed from one of Finland’s most important sonic artists. Join us, as we launch our anniversary season with a bang!
