Epicycles is an exhibition from twelve artists who came together to make something for the summer. Among other things, we are currently interested in:
* friendship :—)
* oceanic feeling
* sounding circuits
* contemplative repetition
* playing with light and shadow
* yarn, bronze, text, glass pearls
* a sense of inde/interdependency
* function and dysfunction, use and misuse
* the relationship between the part and the whole
* “human constructed” narratives applied to “landscape”
* conversation with surroundings / adapting to surroundings
* sea, seascape, islands, walking, contemplation, silence, blue color
* charts, information tables, diagrams etc. – aesthetics of scientific accuracy
* webs, twining together, facilitating contact on a personal level
* combining the photo with objects collected from nature
* kitchen, utilities, necessities, eggs, kites, flags
* reflective surfaces/materials – light
* disappearance and fragileness
* fringes (of spaces, concepts)
* absence and presence
* retroish color combos
* collecting / collector
* plants and paper
* revenge, force
* transparency

The exhibition is open from 19th to 27th July (closed Monday 22nd), from noon to 6pm, in Vapaan Taiteen Tila. The opening takes place on Thursday 18th July at 6pm, we are serving Club Mate and tea provided by Teemaa – come join us!
